Greetings Awesome Person,
I watched a video from Matthew Kelly and he offers some compelling questions worth asking before the year is over.
- Who and what are you most grateful for so far this this?
- What have you accomplished so far this year?
- What have been your biggest distractions?
- What personal quality is most preventing you from accomplishing what you yearn to accomplish and becoming the person you yearn to be?
- Whom have you helped more than anybody else this year?
- What is taking up your time, effort, and mental energy that needs to be firmly placed on your NOT TO DO list?
- What truth are you refusing to face in your life?
I would add one more question,
What have you been afraid to do/try up to this point, but you know you should do it?
Is it a program change?
Is it having that talk with that student, parent or pastor?
Is it getting coaching?
Maybe you've been asking the wrong question, "What is the worst thing that can happen?" and focusing on that outcome. Maybe it's time to ask "What is the best thing that can happen?" and lean into that.
I can't speak to the other things you might be afraid of, but if it's getting coaching, you have nothing to fear. In fact, I'm coaching you right, now.
My newsletter, podcast and videos are designed to coach youth workers and equip them with a game, a new idea and encouragement. If you've benefitted from these, what do you think could happen if we sat down twice a month and talked about ministry and life?
Still not sure? Feel free to set a time to have a conversation with me, ask any questions you like and see if coaching is a good fit for you.
Have a great week!
Paul
