Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I Corinthians 1:7-9
It's easy to feel, especially in down times, that not only do not have enough in way of budget, facilities and support to do the job you were called to do but its easy to feel like YOU are not enough.
On my GROW DAYS I'm studying I Corinthians so allow me tease out what Paul is really saying to the Church at Corinth,
You do not fall short
You are not falling behind
You are not inferior
You are not deficient
You are not left out
You are not depleted
In other words, you AREable to meet the need(s) at hand.
Maybe God hasn't not given you every physical thing you need to run your ministry the way you want. I work in a small rural church and have not had a van for the 3 years I've served there (transportation is always a hassle).
Maybe you don't have the staff to scale your programs.
But maybe we're short sighted in defining what it means to have all we need to do our job.
You do not lack the love, patience and faith required to show up in the lives of teenagers, every week, and love them.
They don't care if you have a van or if you can scale the ministry, they just care that you show up. You can do that, you are doing that and you are not lacking.
