"Very few people or companies can clearly articulate WHY they do WHAT they do. By WHY I mean your purpose, cause or belief - WHY does your company exist? WHY do you get out of bed every morning? And WHY should anyone care?" Simon Sinek, Start With Why
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
Have you ever asked yourself, "Why do I keep doing this?". Me too. Sometimes, multiple times a day, or hour, depending on the what kind of week I'm having
Anytime I've asked this question I have to go back to my WHY.
Why did I want to be a youth pastor?
Why have I stayed a youth pastor even when it's been hard?
If any of these questions are on your mind, go back to YOUR WHY.
Your WHY can sustain you but it can also morph.
My WHY was simple: Youth Pastors helped me, discipled me and trained me. I wanted to do this for others teens just like me.
As I got older, my WHY started to shift from teens to youth pastors, like you.
My WHY became, "Because Youth Pastors need help."
I started this newsletter, my podcast, my Youtube channel and opened a resource store because of this WHY. I was tired of hearing about youth pastors burning out, or getting fired for stupid mistakes, in their first two years.
If you're in a wilderness of decision, remember YOUR WHY.
Have a great week,
Paul
