Discipleship Culture Doesn't Just Happen, It Needs You To Do This

Greetings Awesome Person,

"You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” - James Clear

Create a Culture of Discipleship

Discipleship isn’t a program — it’s a culture. Talk often about ministry as a shared mission: “We’re all pastoring these teens.” In fact, some of your adult leaders may have more influence or more experience than you do with some teens, give them the room and the tools to lead.

Do you have a process for discipleship? Is it present? Visible? Easily accessible? How do your leaders fit into that process? Do they even know the processes or systems you have set up? Do they know how to lead a kid from spiritually disinterested to becoming a faithful follower of Jesus?

Consider the many ways an adult leader can participate, in small and big ways, to the spiritual development of a student.

If your systems or processes are hidden, blurred or non-existent your goal of discipling students won't matter.

Make it clear to your guests, and members, that your youth ministry isn't just pizza night and kick ball every week but that your meetings have purpose and are designed to help them to "go into all the world and make disciples".

Have a great week,

Paul
